About the SIV program
The Significant Investor Visa (SIV) is a Federal Government initiative designed to attract high net worth individuals from other countries who wish to seek permanent residency in Australia. SIV is a stream within the Australian Government's Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) (Subclass 188) visa and the Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) (Subclass 888) visa.
The Australian Government introduced the SIV in 2012 as a way to provide a boost the economy and drive innovation through competing effectively for high net worth individuals seeking investment migration.

THE SIV PROGRAM
Australia’s new complying investment framework was announced by Austrade on 15 May 2015 and commenced on 1 July 2015 for the Significant Investor Visa (SIV) and the Premium Investor Visa (PIV) is aimed at attracting applicants with:

business and entrepreneurial skills, and
-
capital to invest into innovative Australian businesses and the commercialisation of Australian ideas, research and development.
SIV and PIV are today recognised as world leading investment visa programs, providing a pathway to permanent residency in Australia after 4 years, while ensuring a balance between investment migration and economic benefit to the Australian economy.

The SIV is for individuals investing $5 million over 4 years (requirement of 40 days average residency each year in Australia)

The PIV is for individuals investing $15 million over 12 months, and is by invitation only, and nominated by Austrade
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
The application requirements and advantages for SIV Investors include:

An investment of AUD$5million into the Atlas Capital Australia SIV Funds or other complying investment;

Nomination from a State or Territory Government or Austrade

Background checks – including health, character and police checks

No English test, age limit, or business skills test
